Cray commission by tir-ri Cray commission by tir-ri
A5 commission for :iconmamath:, who requested for her Guild Wars character, mesmer Cray. It was fun to study her clothing design and try copy them right. :3

I've been deliberately practicing with reduced color palettes while working on these commissions, unless there has been special requests for the used colors. Both very useful experiences.

________
Character (c) ~Mamath
Art (c) me.
Tools: Masking fluid, black ink, fine and thicker watercolors.

I admit, I got all excited when I saw this was a commission, thinking they were open again! Boo, you led me on!! ;) Haha jk

OKAY anyway, this is just gorgeous. I really love her face, and how her eyes pop so well with these colors. I love the gradients on her clothes and in the feathers, too!

Whenever I do skintones, I feel like I always have to work hard to get a deep contrast in and stuff, but your skintones are always very simple and soft and really effective - I need to learn from you!

Ahh, thank you! I learned how to add more cold and warm tones to skin by following another deviant's work on this site a few years back, but I've forgotten their username (stopped posting here). TvT
